A Few of My Favorite Things & Least Favorite
Have you thought about what makes you well… YOU? What you like? What you don’t like? Coming up with a list may be harder than you think. Let’s start with what I don’t like? If I don’t like something, then I want to make sure to avoid it. Life is too short to have something or someone draining the life out of you.
- I absolutely dislike (like NO WAY JOSE) and will not watch anything horror-related. There’s enough evil in the world, and that stuff leaves a trace on your spirit. I’m careful about what I let into my soul.
- I have an aversion to loud sounds – other people’s car music, TV volume, people sneezing – except when I’m playing my music that I want to listen to & then it can be loud and proud & not affect me.
- Bonus – I CANNOT stand the sound of a vehicle when I back into the garage and it starts beeping loudly that I’m getting “close” to something. I appreciate the helpfulness but I really dislike the volume of these beeps 🔕
- A messy or untidy house with stuff left everywhere and not the big stuff either – an Amazon box left in the entryway, someone’s mail on the counter, just stuff left out. When you have a lot of people living in a home, a few people leaving their stuff out makes the whole house feel messy.
- One thing that I dislike is negativity – in people, comments about others or assuming the worst. Not asking questions and assuming someone is intentionally mean or saying negative comments about someone else. Everyone has a challenging life and out of the mouth, speaks the heart – good or bad.
- Someone being on their phone at a table during a meal. Silence it. Put it away. Step away from the table if you need to engage in a call or email or conversation but do it away from the table. Manners matter and so do people.
- I love Christian hip-hop and rap. It’s what I work out to, and I only listen to Christian music in my car. KB is probably my favorite Christian rapper.
- I light a candle every morning when reading my Bible to remember my mother.
- A fluffy chocolate frosted doughnut with sprinkles is one of life’s sweetest little joys for me 🍩
- I love going all out for holidays and decorating for birthdays. Warms my heart to make others feel special & seen.
- Hanging out with ladies a generation or two older than me. They are SO MUCH fun!! and I learn so much.
